Why did you want to become a model?
I didn't. My mom convinced me that I should try. And when I did, it was worth it. Eventually, I wanted to break the stereotype. I'm a nerd and I'm not perfect but that didn't stop me from modeling.

How did you get started in modeling?
My mom encouraged me during high school, maybe mostly because I sprouted up to 5'6' at 16.

How has your life changed after you involved?
Aside from getting second looks for having that “familiar face”, it was pretty much the same. Oh and I had more money, of course!

What is your favorite part about being a model?
Being able to be a chameleon! It's so fun to dress up and be all dolled up.

What are your likes and dislikes about modeling?
I like the perks but I dislike that it can be so unstable.

What are the qualities for you to be a model?
Aside from the physical, a model should believe in one's self and have a beautiful outlook in life.

Who are your influences?
In the Philippines, I am always at awe with model Cristina Garcia. I tried to emulate her at first but eventually found my own groove ;)

What types of assignments are you attracted most?
I like the more challenging ones.

What was the hardest challenge for you?
It wasn't hard but it was a challenge--auditioning for a role as a high school student when in fact I was 29!

What are your most memorable modeling experiences? It could be good or bad...
There's a lot. One of my favorites was when I landed the cover of Preview Magazine.

What would bring a smile to your face?
A good joke! But I'm generally very cheerful so I smile a lot!

What would be your "dream job" in life?
To be a great wife and mom :-)

What projects are you currently working on?
To date, I'm the new face of a contact lens brand. As a makeup artist, I have upcoming bridal gigs.

What are your future plans?
Put up my own beauty-based business.

What's the best advice ever given to you?
Never compare yourself to others--from the Desiderata.

What are some Do's and Don'ts in the business that you have learned?
What sort of tips or advice would you give somebody who is looking to modeling?

Be professional, have a lot of passion and never let anyone put you down. Don't let rejections stop you from moving forward. Be fashionably aware. Wear sunscreen and take good care of your skin! Wellness is key. After all, YOU are your biggest investment.
