Interview with Shira Andronaco                                     Shira Andronaco's Portfolio

All rights reserved. Unauthorized use or reproduction of coyrighted materials is strictly prohibited. Why did you want to become a model?
To be completely honest, I REALLY need money...and I also started because I enjoy art, and modeling is a ton of fun!

How did you get started in modeling?
For the the last 3 years, I've been asked by complete strangers in random places if I am a model. This occurrence would be at least 4 times a week! No Joke! It was flattering, but the answer was a continuous 'no', with lectures thrown at me to follow. I finally walked into an agency one day to see if they saw the same potential these random strangers had seen. And they liked me! :) I've been modeling for 1 1/2 years now and I love it!

How has your life changed after you involved?
I have a lot more confidence and I tend to dress like I just walked off the runway now. I have become addicted to fashion!

What is your favorite part about being a model?
I love becoming art. When the MUAs, Photographers, Designers, and Stylists come together with me, I enjoy the journey and can't wait to see the finished masterpiece!

What are your likes and dislikes about modeling?
I pretty much love everything about the industry except being pressured to produce nude photos. I understand that the human body is a work of art itself, but let's not overlook the fact that it is also sacred.

Who are your influences?
Actually, I don't have any influences. Strange.

What types of assignments are you attracted most?
Print and Runway

What was the hardest challenge for you?
Holding a 48 lb constrictor python for a shoot. He kept rubbing his face against my face!! Nevermind, he can inflict 12000 lbs of pressure in 3 seconds! eek!

What are your most memorable modeling experiences? It could be good or bad...
I love getting to know the artists behind the scenes! Talking and joking with the MUAs while picking their brains about beauty secrets is so fun!

What would bring a smile to your face?
Getting at least one modeling job a week! It would really help me out with my finances!

What would be your "dream job" in life?
HAHA! totally off the wall- I want to be a meteorologist and chase storms!! *but I've never been a good math/science/physics student*

What projects are you currently working on?
none. What are your future plans ?
Eh, come what may...

Whats the best advice ever given to you?
In modeling: SHOW THAT NECK!
Ever in the history of forever: Trust in the Lord with all your strength and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

What are some Do's and Don'ts in the business that you have learned?
DO improvise even if it looks silly; the pix turn out awesome! DON'T compromise your terms and conditions you have set for yourself. Stick to them.

What sort of tips or advice would you give somebody who is looking to modeling?
Don't pay an agency to be signed. They make a percentage off the jobs they find for you.

Is there anything else, to say, we did not ask?
...hmm.. nope! Pleasure!

Thank you Shira!
